A MESSAGE THAT COULD EFFECT YOUR LIVER~DID MINE! :(
There are many ways to contract Hepatitis C and it can take 20 to 30 years to show up.This video stops short of intraveinous drug use (stigma,I guess)but as I said there are so many ways!
BTW I thought I knew a lot but found out only today, that boiling a syringedoes not make you safe.If someone else, a carrier uses the same tourniqette and/or injects you a mere brush of tourniqette/finger/thumb/tap on the needle(by the injector) against your skin(on the puncture site) can cause you to contract the virus! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SEE ANY BLOOD A MINISCULE AMOUNT,NAKED TO THE HUMAN EYE IS ENOUGH TO INFECT YOU.....THAT'S FOR LIFE!
And.....yes I have recently been diagnosed with Hepatitis C,something to add to my litany of other illnesses..Great!
I was absolutely floored!I started to think why me? Where? How?OK I had a wild past as a teen/young woman.....but that was sooooooo many lifetimes ago.
I had my son via a C section 27 years ago in 1982 and blood was NOT screened until 1989.
I had dental work done cheaply, because it was all I could afford.........and the list could go on,but that is all done and gone.
Nothing can be changed!
I do know however that new and more successful treatments, are coming along all the time for Hep C and I know I have a chance to halt this disease with available treatment. It's a 50/50 success rate, but I'd be stupid not to try!(Will keep you posted)
Another thing I think would be stupid is if you feel you may have have contact with the infection,NOT to be blood tested, for peace of mind! It's just a little prick..and haven't we all had to face them at some time in our lifes?? :)
*****If you have any info/experience with Hep C /treatment,I'd love to hear!
Come on in PLEASE!

A True Blue Friend!
Are you willing to sit there listen to them and give them comfort even when they're not making much sense?
OR do you know they have a problem, and will probably chew your ear off for ages (with their nonsensical imaginings and paranoia)and when the phone rings, you're awfully sorry, you'd love to talk ANY OTHER TIME,but right now you have a pressing engagement?
(Maybe you need to wash your hair or watch the latest episode of your favourite T.V. show!)
Maybe we all do that at one time or another!
But, I believe a true friend is someone who invests in you.....not money, but their time!
When someone is obviously tired but they still give you their time ,they are sending a very positive and comforting message to you! That they care enough about your feelings to give you that time and not a lot of people will drop everything to do that for someone. Those that do are indeed very special people and if you should have one in your life, count yourself, truly blessed!
It has long been said that,"time is money", maybe in some cases it is,but the sort of time I'm referring to is love.
We also need to make this time reciprocal, there is no take and take.....it MUST be give and take, otherwise,it is simply an accquaintance and not a friendship!
Investment of time is also crucial for both parties to learn about each other and allow a friendship to develop.
None of us are perfect and we often judge others on first impressions! We are usually very quick to judge someones character, based on the tiniest snippet of that person, from some high minded assumption we have made!! (You know what happens when we assume, more often than not,we make an ass of ourselves!)
I am extremely lucky to have a friend such as this in my life, and yes I did assume and was totally incorrect :(
The interesting thing to me is quite a few make the same assumption as I did!I was as I said,an ass in doing this (and so are they!)
Thankfully with time, comes knowledge and understanding and I am now privileged,to have one of those time investing friends in my life.It seems YouTube gatherings can come in useful, for an abundance of reasons! :)
Well, the One I attended in Melbourne last December, certainly had a major impact on my life. Apart from being a blast,it introduced someone into my life I just cant/dont want to imagine being without!
Let me just say in closing, you will NEVER know someone,by what you assume about them (after all, that's what's in YOUR head!)You will only ever get to really know them,by investing the time to get to know them!
AND Pauly, you are not just a True Blue Australian...................................
You are a True Blue Friend and I'd like to thank you for putting the time in!

Russell Morris : 'Rachel' - music video
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 8TH 2008.
**I'm blogging this video, because I thought I'd watch it for memories sake.....then I found myself crying and feeling the very same emotions I had all those years ago!
This song was released during the Vietnam War.We did feel helpless, particularly young men.
My mother and I broke the law more than once hiding concientious objectors who'd been involuntarily "conscripted",by the Australian Federal Government! Their system of calling up our young men (The women escaped conscription, but many went as nurses) was to have a lottery, much like Tattslotto! They would,as each month came around, put all the numbers of the days in that month into a barrel, then pick out 19 random numbers,if you were between 18 and 25,and you're birthday came out,you were a soldier! You had no choice. What made people take so much action on this war, eventually resulting in forcing our Government to extricate us from it,was that we saw it in all its horror every night in our lounge rooms.Who would want to send a son to do that to anyone,or want any of that to happen.I'm proud of my mum for getting involved when I asked her..and if the Gobvernment want tocome and arrest me now....well bring it on!!!!!
One thing I didn't mention is that the voting age was 21 years.Dont forget, they were taking 18,19 and 20 year old boys, believe me they were boys at that age then. You weren't able to vote on issues but they could pluck you out and use you as war fodder.........No just didn't seem a fair system to me,still doesn't,because it wasn't!
The moratoriums were wonderful experiences in people power and it works,it could work again.Unity of belief is a powerful tool!
I know this song will sound old fashioned to most of you,but try to listen to the words (Iknow Russell and there is a "Rachel")she did come home, not the same as when she left though!
I'm 55 now and have some friends that remain damaged from their exposure to the war in Vietnam, they also remained very confused,as they didn't know about it and certainly none of them will talk of it.There are others who were just too broken to go on.....the impact is immeasurable!
Please be gentle with any Viet Vets you should meet,
(we weren't very respectful of them when they came home that first time, they were spat at..justbecause they'd been there!)
It's up to you guys now but give them some peace and their dues, they've well and truly earned them.Pray it never happens again!

Do you have keyboard impressions on your face?
I mean am I the only one or does it happen to you too?
You're sitting there at the pc merrily surfing the net.......and you wake up with a start as your head hits the keyboard BANG!!!!!
You give it a rub and reach for your cup of coffee..it's stone cold, check the clock and find it's some Three hours later!
Oh dear have I let the internet take over,to such a degree that I fight sleep off, just to be there a little bit longer?
I dont know about you,but I'm going to bed now..I've been here too long, lol!
